"Gama! Gama! Gama!" If you've ever heard delightful cries such as these from any of our amazing children, you are lucky indeed. Our children are our new bridge to heaven and hold a wonderful energy of love, innocence, delight, and a joy at being here. They are our hope for the future, our guiding lights, and a treasure in our midst.
 
With four grandchildren of my own whom I am blessed to have light up when they see me (well, most of the time!), who wouldn't choose Gama as the name of their publishing company?

   I created Gama Books as a means of distributing my writings and
   keeping my work in my own hands. Located in a small town in the
   mountains of western North Carolina and surrounded by endless
   waterfalls, magical forests, and small town living, Gama Books has
   found the heart of its creations. 

   What does Gama Books do?   

Gama Books is the source for the writings of Karen Bishop. We do not publish the works of other authors. All of my books are available here on this web site and are offered in paperback print format only.  
 
What is the vision of Gama Books?
 
Ahhhh. . .this is the best part. Who doesn't enjoy a good book on a comfy sofa? With digital books now more prevalent than ever before, I personally believe print books will always be in existence. Touching real paper with our fingertips, laying a good book open upon our chest while resting and dreaming during reading time, leaving that old familiar book mark right where we left off, and sharing/trading books with our loved-ones are joys and pleasures that digital reading does not provide. Restoring our lives to states of being that existed before the arrival of electronics and the Internet will, I believe, become the norm in times to come. Gama Books will always strive to bring you a tactile and pleasant experience through exceptional subject matter, along with a beautiful print book.  
 
The children are the heart of Gama Books. We are dedicated to bringing fun, entertaining, and playful fiction to juvenile readers in the form of chapter books. With the sole purpose of delighting and entertaining, and just plain fun (along with lots of heart-opening energy amidst a nature theme), providing juvenile fiction is the primary thrust of Gama Books.  In this way, the Charlie Rivers. . .no ordinary boy book series has been created to do just that. If you are a "grown-up" and young at heart, you may enjoy them too!

During times of great change, we crave a deeper heart connection. Gama Books is also pleased to offer heart centered fiction books and regular posts for adults that will touch your heart as you read them during these challenging times.
 
Reading and reading aloud to others, are activities that bring comfort, pleasure, joy, information, messages, friends, and so much more. It is this activity and source of connection that Gama Books holds deep in its heart as well.   

A spiritual writer for over ten years, I have written hundreds of articles about our spiritual evolutionary process, along with ten books about the ascension process, how it unfolded, and how each and every one of us was affected. As a guest on various radio programs, along with my writings, I was been blessed to have thousands of readers worldwide. With my work in this arena now complete, it was time for some "me" time and to simply enjoy life for a while. My magnet immediately pulled me to my grandchildren and to a quiet, simple town away from the hubbub of ordinary life (well, "the away from the hubbub" part was really not new for me!). I was lucky this sweet little town and my grandchildren were both in the same place. For a year I lived and breathed children. They were my sole companions and closest friends, and I was indeed renewed (along with the added companionship of a very special forest and the nicest and friendliest town residents I had yet to have encountered). 

As time went on, I felt a very new anchoring arriving along with it.  A communicator at heart, I was beginning to get "stopped up" and needed an outlet once more. . . so it was very natural that the children were what drew me in.  Prior to my work as a spiritual writer, I worked with children in several different arenas, primarily as a teacher. . .but I have to say that we spent more time playing than learning! I could never get enough of them! As I downsized and started over from scratch with a very new life, I found myself returning to the children, only this time, through my passion and experience with writing. The Charlie Rivers   . . . no ordinary boy juvenile chapter books were the result, and I couldn't be more thrilled.
 
I like to write about what makes me feel good. Having fun with children and being playful and light has always been a preference for me, but being in the heart energy is important to me as well. In this way, I will also be offering books that open our hearts in the form of adult fiction, along with a mish-mash of other stories pertenant to the times we now find ourselves in. 

As detailed in one of my last books in the spiritual arena, Heart in the Night (offered here on this web site), our children now hold the most pristine energy of the heart and of the new  world, as our old world makes its departure. I am very blessed to have them in my near  vicinity now, each and very day. Their presence has greatly enhanced my life.  I am also very lucky to be in that child-like space of their innocence every time I pick up my pen to write the Charlie Rivers books. 

I live in a small town in western North Carolina where I am currently writing my first Charlie Rivers book and simply enjoying life.
